An environmentally and user friendly way
to control the frogs has been devised by a resident of Fern Acres with
complete success at their home. First we all know coqui frogs are attracted to fly's and they climb up and
down the trees daily.
Buy some Goo-B-Gone or similar material to clean your hands with, some
cotton string and as many fly catching strips as you may need. All of this is EPA approved.
Tie the strips around the trunks of trees at a convenient height in the area
where the frogs are with the cotton string and clean your hands with the
Goo-B-Gone. A height of about 4' has been tried with success so far. As
the frogs travel up and down the trees they cross the strips and their feet become quite sticky picking up the moss on the tree which makes
climbing difficult at best and in some cases getting stuck to the trap.
The traps catch both fly's and frogs, and a peaceful night in the jungle returns to your home.
This sure beats going out in the dark and trying to hunt them down. The
nice part is you can do this when you want to " in the day time" and
it seems to have the least impact on the native environment.
Hope this helps with this problem before it gets worse !!
